From the very outset we wanted to build a practice where owners could bring their cats without feeling anxious about the stress it will cause them. The initial drawings of our practice already had our feline patients in mind! We know that just to get a cat into a carrier for a vet visit could be a challenge. Usually by the time a cat arrives at the vet both pet and owner are already a bit frazzled! Our aim is to make the rest of the experience a pleasant one . . . and who knows, just maybe your cat will look forward to the next trip to True Vets.
On arrival you will enter through a dedicated cat entrance and be seated in a separate waiting area, away from the dogs. Your cat carrier can be stowed under the very comfy benches in the waiting room to provide a visual barrier for your cat. Feliway diffusers will provide a whiff of calming pheromones. You will be invited into a cat friendly consultation room and your cat will be assessed by one of our veterinarians using a gentle and considerate approach.
In the case of hospital admission, your cat will stay in a custom-built sound isolated cat ward away from the dogs, which will provide a calm and quiet environment for optimal recovery! Our cat cages are of the highest quality with transparent Perspex doors to lower stress levels. The cages are roomy with soft bedding which should feel more like a small hotel than a prison. We have state of the art veterinary equipment to provide our feline patients with the best possible care.
We are also members of the ISFM (International Society of Feline Medicine) Cat Friendly Clinic Program and adhere to their highest tier which is the Gold standard.
